The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum Research Library and Archives began in 1997 as a research tool to aid in the creation and restoration of the motorcycle and car collection. The library has since grown to contain one of the largest collections of motorcycle literature in the world, with more than 13,000 books. The library also includes back issues of more than 380 motorcycle and car magazine titles, parts catalogs, auction catalogs, service manuals, photographs, and over 900 video titles. The library is home to interesting memorabilia from the Barber Museum Collection, such as trophies, awards, toys, models, art, and almost anything motorcycle-related you can think of… from the Harley Barbie to motorcycle oil.
The museum staff uses the Library for reference, providing an invaluable asset for complex tasks. Although not open to the public, staff members are continually assisting in outside research. For questions about the museum’s research library, email us.
