Do you have a passion for motorsports, history, and people? If so, we would love to have you join our team!
As a Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum Volunteer, you have the opportunity to interact with our guests and to help promote our mission statement – the preservation, interpretation, exhibition, and history of motorcycles, vintage vehicles and motorsports!
There are many ways for you to participate throughout the year:
Event Weekend Volunteer (Friday-Sunday): Assist with greeting and interacting with visitors, monitoring the collection, and serving our guests in various roles from gear check to hospitality. Our major event weekends include, but are not limited to, the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix (April), MotoAmerica (May) and Barber Vintage Festival (October).
Floor Marshal Volunteer (Monday-Sunday): Assist the Barber Museum Security Team with monitoring the collection and interacting with guests to answer questions and provide general information about the museum and collection.
Field Trip Volunteer (Monday-Friday): Assist in the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum Education Program, which includes tours and activities for students in grades 3-12. Activities include assisting students in assembling components onto motorcycle frames in our Build-a-Bike program. Training is included and prior motorcycle knowledge is not required, but welcomed!
Detail Crew Volunteer (Monday-Friday): Assist the Barber Museum Restoration Team with the daily cleaning and basic maintenance of the Barber Museum Collection. Training is provided and prior motorcycle knowledge is not required, but welcomed!
Advanced Volunteer Opportunities: After completing requirements and training, there are additional opportunities to serve as a Museum and Garden Docents. The Docent Program teaches you to give guided tours of the museum and/or park to guests who upgrade their experience.
Our Volunteer Rewards Program recognizes your involvement, both throughout the year and with a year-end celebration!
These opportunities are separate from the volunteer opportunities in the park. If you would like to volunteer for the Barber Motorsports Park, please visit: https://barberracingevents.com/.
