Design Camp

About
Design camp invites rising 5th-6th grade students to explore the exciting world of science, technology, engineering, art, math, and design through the lens of motorsports. Throughout this hands-on camp, students will experiment, create, and problem-solve as they explore how ideas become tangible designs.
Students will engage in a variety of activities, including computer-aided design, clay modeling, RC car building and racing, hands-on engineering challenges, and an introduction to motorcycle mechanics. They’ll also explore the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum and Park, using its incredible collection of vehicles and innovations as inspiration for their own creative work.
Created for curious young innovators, Design Camp encourages students to think creatively, work collaboratively, and approach challenges from multiple perspectives. Whether they are designing a vehicle, exploring how a motorcycle works, or creating an exhilarating road course for RC cars, students will build confidence while discovering that STEM and creativity go hand in hand.
