Coming to the 2018 Barber Vintage Festival
International Auction House Bonhams to Conduct Motorcycle Auction in Birmingham
Birmingham, Alabama (Mar. 20, 2018) – The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is proud to announce the International Auction House Bonhams will be conducting a motorcycle auction on Saturday, October 6, at Barber Motorsports Park. Bonhams is actively seeking consignments for the October event, which takes place in conjunction with the annual Barber Vintage Festival on October 5-7.
“With it being a classic motorcycle auction, there may be some motorcycles that are similar to what we have in the museum. Bonhams, however, will be providing all of the bikes for the auction,” said the museum’s executive director, Jeff Ray.
The Barber Museum, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit foundation, is home to the world’s largest collection of motorcycles numbering more than 1,600. Some of the motorcycles and cars in the museum’s inventory have been donated, while others have been acquired at auctions. Bonhams, a privately owned international auction house founded in 1793 and based in the United Kingdom, is the leading global auctioneer of classic motorcycles and holds the world record for the most valuable motorcycle ever sold at auction.
“It will be fantastic to offer an auction of this magnitude in Birmingham. With the Barber Vintage Festival entering its 14th year, and with last year bringing in more than 73,000 people, it would be tough to find a more suitable and enthusiastic audience,” said the museum’s founder, George Barber.
